OK, so, if you didn’t know I am originally born and raised from Grand Rapids, MI. I have been in Florida for almost 9 years and never really get homesick minus the feelings of always missing family and my friends, the only other time I really miss home is during the fall season.
I miss the change of season, the change of leaves, the cool air, pumpkin patches, apple orchards, hot apple cider and apple donuts at those places and of course haunted houses.
Now we have fall in Florida, but our fall means still above 80 degree temps and our haunted houses is MULTIPLE house at Universals Halloween Horror Nights. NOT THE SAME. BUT NOW……
We’ve discovered the Southern Hill Farms and it is one of our new favorite places!
Right now, on Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays, Southern Hill Farms has their FALL FESTIVAL + PUMPKIN PATCH going on. From October 5th through November 3RD, 2019, 11 AM- 7 PM. It is $20 and worth every penny!
The Pumpkin Patch is right in the entrance after walking in, in a pavilion. They have beautiful white pumpkins, orange pumpkins big for carving and small for babies or decorations, & many heirlooms in many colors. I chose five pumpkins in white and orange for fall decor in the house and it came out to only $19 for all. The patch is also PERFECT for fun photos with your family, kids and friends!
Our next favorite stop: FLOWER PICKING AND PHOTO OPS.
OK so this might be a top favorite for me from the farm! They have the most beautiful flower fields. rows of Zinnia flowers, and the prettiest sunflowers!
You can pick fresh sunflowers and zinnias and bring your own bouquet home with you and the prices weren’t bad at all! Who wouldn’t want these beautiful flowers as a fall centerpiece in their home?! They also encourage photos, as the sunflowers has a blue velvet couch out front for your family, couple or friends pictures!
After the Sunflower and Zinnia fields we went over to the food truck stops!
From chicken tenders and fries, to lobster rolls and tacos. They have so many options for food! That is if you’re not full from their homemade donuts, cobbler and muffins, their bakery is open The-Sun 9 AM- 4 PM and during the fall festival from 11 AM-7 PM.
They also have a trailer with beer, wine, and cocktails all made with ingredients from the farm like their fresh blueberries! I enjoyed a blueberry mimosa, while my husband had a blueberry beer from the farm!
During the fall festival their is also A TON of stuff for the kiddos! From tractor rides, to mini carnival rides like a small pirate ship that swings back and forth to bounce houses and the swings that go around and around, there will never be a down moment there for them! Tickets during the fall festival to the kid’s attractions are around $14!
We had the absolute best time and are already planning our next visit, if you live in Orlando or central Florida area I highly recommend checking this farm out for all of your fall festive hangs and photos! We can’t wait to make this a family tradition and visit again!
