Anyone else a huge fan of staycations? We love leaving the house for a weekend for a change of scenery! Luckily for us, living in the sunshine state, there is always a place to staycation! This blog post is sponsored by and all about our weekend at Summer Bay Resort in Orlando, an EXPLORIA RESORT!
Summer Bay Resort is a sprawling family friendly resort, layed out over 400 acres! With amenities like SIX different pools, toddler friendly splash pads and pools, water activities on the spring fed lake, and even mini golf, & yummy restaurants, there is something for everyone visiting! Below are a few of our favorite moments from our time there!
We stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroom room, with a full kitchen, private balcony and full living room, it seriously felt like a home away from home!!
See the above view? This is the pool at the clubhouse and it is gorgeous! I loved enjoying coffee out there in the morning, to the right of this pool is a kiddie pool that Londyn loved splashing around in! Perfect for tots and babies! All of the pool areas have a lot of great seating and shaded seats for the fam as well! We stayed right in the same area as the clubhouse and the Big Kahuna bar & Grill, and pool. We spent most days soaking in the sun at this pool, with a zero entry and multiple sprinklers, Londyn didn’t want to leave! We had lunch each day at this bar and grill and the food was so good! There’s also always something going on, like bingo, a dj and more. We had so much fun taking it all in! The pool is all lit up so nicely too at night! making it for a perfect night swim atmosphere!
The clubhouse was another family favorite! There is a movie theater inside, pool tables, restrooms and a game room! Different movies play at times throughout the day, and we loved the mini game room. We never had to leave property as there was always something to do!
There are three dining options while at Summer Bay resort! We always had breakfast at the Hello Coffee Shop located right inside the main pool clubhouse. They have bakery items, breakfast sandwiches you can bring back and heat up, cereals and more! PLUS they make Starbucks coffee drinks! I loved starting my morning there!
The Big Kahuna Bar and grille was another hit! With many delicious menu items, we loved every thing we tried off of it! You can eat right at the bar or pool area, or take it back to your room! The food was always fresh and quickly made!
Last but certainly not least, the Italian Kitchen also located inside the main clubhouse. We are big Italian food lovers, so I was so excited to try this place and it did not disappoint!! From the pizza to the spaghetti, it was all delicious!! Londyn approved of the ice cream as well.
While the resort is reasonably close to other restaurants and dining options, we again didn’t feel it necessary to leave to find food for any meal!! That was so helpful as we have two littles.
One of Londyn’s favorite parts was checking Buccaneer Bay! It has ziplining and the cutest little water park for your kiddos!! Londyn loved playing in the water here and running through the water sprayers, there were other “attractions” but some were closed down at that moment, I’m not quite sure if that was a permanent closure or if it was just temporary for the season we were in!
Before we went to head home, we stopped and checked out the pier and mini golf! The pier was gorgeous, it’s right on the lake behind the main clubhouse and pool. It was so quiet and peaceful, we enjoyed breakfast out there on the bench
Right next to the main clubhouse there is an 18 hole mini golf course! It was the perfect ending to our staycation weekend!!
